Age calculator: what it is and how it works

Age is calculated by counting the full years since the date of birth: you are not a year older until your birthday. For your exact age, the remaining months and days are added, taking into account that months have different lengths.

This calculator gives your age as of today or any other date, for example to find out how old you will be on a given day or how old someone was at some point in the past. It also shows the total months, weeks and days lived, the weekday you were born and how many days are left until your next birthday. If you were born on 29 February, in non-leap years your birthday is taken as 1 March.

How to use it

  1. Enter your date of birth.
  2. Keep today’s date or choose another reference date.
  3. See your exact age and some fun facts.
FormulaAge = full years between the date of birth and the reference date

Worked example

Someone born on 15 June 1990 is, on 2 November 2026, 36 years, 4 months and 18 days old: they have lived 13,289 days and were born on a Friday.
